A small hacienda located on the Yucatan peninsula, Hacienda Santa Rosa is a former nobleman’s private estate.
Once an important property of the nobility of the Yucatan, this hacienda is now a luxury hotel. Its unique design is in keeping with the other Starwood Luxury Collection properties in the region, with a swimming pool that travels under the lower arches of an outhouse building, the bright red of the walls contrasting with the blue of the water.
In true hacienda-style, the rooms are large and grand, with 18-foot, exposed wood beamed ceilings and original tile floors. The metal frame beds are in keeping with the period and are topped with exquisitely comfortable mattresses. Dark wood furniture and 10-foot wooden doors add the traditional feel. The bathrooms are large with bathtubs and exterior showers that combine with the tree roots for a rather exotic showering experience.
Original features of the property can be found within the grounds rich with tropical flora. Take a walk back in time as you wander through the area.
Enjoy a candlelit dinner on the terrace of the main house, where Chef Gimi Ku and his team offer a mix of international and regional favorites.
