Casa Lecanda is a small luxury boutique hotel located within the historical center of Mérida, Yucatan.
On a quiet street just two blocks from the Paseo de Montejo, Casa Lecanda is a small boutique hotel that offers a peaceful haven in the bustling city of Merida.
A 100-year-old restored house, the hotel centers around the internal swimming pool surrounded by elegant white arches and offset by lush green foliage. The arches and Moroccan-style lighting give the building a Moorish, almost Kasbah-like feel. Much of the design retains the original features of the house with two nicely appointed garden suites added at the back of the hotel. Interesting and unique furniture pieces made by the architect add to the design feel of the hotel as do the unusual tile features in some of the rooms. The beds are deep and comfortable and the charming bathrooms come complete with organic amenities.
Enjoy a dip in the pool, a cocktail on the lounge-style roof terrace or take a cooking class in the hotel’s traditional style kitchen.
There is no restaurant at the hotel, but with some of Merida’s best restaurants and bars just a few steps away, you have a great excuse to get out and explore.
