OVERVIEWAMENITIES

Posada del Hidalgo is a beautiful colonial mansion in El Fuerte, Sinaloa.

Built in 1890 by a wealthy and influential mayor, Posada del Hidalgo is a beautiful colonial mansion in El Fuerte, Sinaloa. The construction of the building took five years, cost 1 million gold pesos and resulted in the mansion being the largest in El Fuerte. Pillared arches undulate around central courtyards abundant with lush fauna and central fountains and the Casa Vieja section of the hotel is believed to have been the original site of “El Zorro’s” house.

The 68 rooms come in three styles. Some have high ceilings with 240 amapa wood beams and two-story balconies, which are the original bedrooms of the mansion. The newer style rooms face the spacious and breathtaking garden, and Casa Vieja has 12 beautiful rooms that surround the tropical garden and come with modern amenities and colonial design.

The restaurant, named Don Diego´s in honor of El Zorro’s real name, has views out onto the garden or guests can choose to eat under the palapa by the hotel pool. Local dishes such as langoustines are a specialty but there are also a number of international and fusion dishes on the menu. The bar serves a selection of cocktails and beers and is a great place to relax after a busy day exploring the delights of the local area.
