The St. Regis Kanai Resort

The St. Regis Kanai floats over a beachfront mangrove reserve between Cancún and Playa del Carmen, well placed to explore Mayan history at archaeological sites, jump into crystalline cenotes and uncover the Sian Ka´an´s Biosphere´s incredible biodiversity. 

Striking, avant-garde architecture carves circular structures through the 620 acres of natural mangrove forest, boasting serene views across lush green to the shoreline. The hotel offers 124 guest rooms and suites that feature bespoke furniture and a plunge pool or private terrace. Cut-out wooden bedheads add a touch of artistry to clean modern lines and the resort´s calming natural color palette.

Unique dining experiences await at a range of restaurants and bars, from Middle Eastern cuisine at Chaya, to fresh seafood at the beachfront Riviera. During the design process, The St. Regis Kanai resort worked closely with local environmental authorities and the governmental environment protection agency to preserve and protect its surrounding mangrove forest. Onsite sustainability efforts include automation control systems to save energy, efficient and low energy lighting, and a Bio Digester that drastically reduces organic waste. A system is in place to recycle PET, glass, paper, cardboard, aluminum and vegetable oil, and the hotel processes its own water that is packaged in glass, eliminating the use of plastic bottles.

Additionally, the Kanai complex employs a biologist with expertise in mangroves and wetlands, sea turtle conservation programs, flora and fauna, who helps the properties with their sustainability journeys.
