Set among 200 acres of verdant jungle and the shimmering Caribbean Sea, Maroma, a Belmond Hotel Riviera Maya is pure escapism with a touch of Mayan magic.
Enjoy a luxury beachfront getaway with a strong sense of place, where guests are enveloped by tropical nature and Mexican culture.Â
The hotel´s architecture has roots in Sacred Geometry, paired with light, airy, art-filled rooms created by acclaimed designer Tara Bernerd. Many accommodations offer sea views, and refined interiors rich in natural, local materials that honor Mexican artisanal traditions and authentic craftsmanship. Stay in an oceanfront villa for added privacy and stunning ocean views. Â
Beachfront restaurants offer zest, zing, and color, serving mouthwatering Mexican and international woodfired cuisines prepared with a focus on local ingredients. Sip artisanal mezcals and rare Mexican wines relaxing at the hotel´s vibrant bars.Â
Three outdoor pools and a dedicated kid´s club will keep young ones entertained while adults slip into a pamper session at Maroma Spa by Guerlain. Connect to ancestral wisdom with treatments based on Mayan ritual and tradition, including the use of honey from the sacred Melipona bee.
Take a look at the sample itinerary we designed around two Belmond properties: Maroma in Riviera Maya and Casa Sierra Nevada in San Miguel Allende. Experience  Mexico’s diversity, from old-world colonial architecture and the aromas of an authentic market, to underground cave systems and secluded beach backed by lush jungle.  Take a look and let us know how we can personalize your perfect trip!

Maroma’s conservation programs include: a sanctuary on-site to protect and educate about four turtle species that hatch on local beaches; another on-property sanctuary to protect and raise awareness about the endangered melipona bee species in partnership with Fundación Selva Maya and Mayahuum, including educational guest experiences; the identification and protection of endemic bird species that call Maroma’s grounds home, such as the endangered olive throated parakeet and white-fronted parrot. Additionally, the hotel’s on-site nursery produces over two thousand endemic plants, some of which are in danger of extinction, and rescues native seedlings from the resort’s surrounding jungle to increase their rate of reproduction and survival.
The hotel collaborates with local artisans to upcycle all transparent glass bottles into blown glass amenities for guests and participates in “Weaver of Dreams”, a project that upcycles textile waste to make stuffed animals, contributing to the economies of the women who create them. Bar soaps are transformed into new ones in collaboration with the NGO “Sacando Espuma” donated to communities with restricted access to hygiene products. Additionally, Maroma supports Vida para mi Escuela, an initiative that introduces students to biotechnologies and teaches permaculture technical skills. In alliance with the supplier “Biclas”, all the bicycles used for on-site bike tours are donated to Mayan communities after one year of use. Maroma partnered with Collectiva ConcepciĂłn to design its team´s uniforms, a socially conscious brand rooted in Mexican design that promotes and supports local artisan communities.
At the hotel’s Casa Mayor restaurant, Executive Chef Daniel Camacho sources 90% of ingredients from Mexico, half of which come from the Yucatán Peninsula. This includes purchasing freshly caught seafood from the Amigos de Sian Ka’an cooperative and membership at the Pesca con Futuro project, to promote sustainable fishing and aquaculture.
