As you may have seen reported in local media, there have been two separate shooting incidents in the state of Quintana Roo.
Journey Mexico is following both situations very closely via our office and staff in Cancun. Any clients we have in the area are being personally contacted by our Cancun staff.
Though the incidents are still under investigation, it appears, based on available information, that both acts are connected to organized crime and took place between rivals units with specific targets. Tourists were not targeted in either incident.
Journey Mexico will continue to monitor the situation and update as necessary.
