Puerto Vallarta and its nearby towns of Sayulita and Punta Mita have been named among the world’s best beginner’s surf spots.
The trio of Mexican beach destinations were praised for being the “hub of user-friendly waves in mainland Mex, with soft beach breaks and mellow points” by the surf experts at Magic Seaweed.
The article also said of the Pacific Coast spots:
“Since the area is accustomed to tourists, there are lots of accommodation and food options at a range of prices, and the area remains relatively safe.”
For intermediate and expert surfers, Mexico has a number of excellent destinations including southern Baja and the famous barrels of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.
