9- Day First Class Copper Canyon Railway Adventure on El Chepe.

Transfer to the station and board El Chepe Express First Class for the six-hour ascent into the Sierra Madre. Settle into lounge and dining-dome spaces as the train threads tunnels and bridges en route to Divisadero. On arrival, meet your host and transfer to your cliff-edge hotel. Enjoy sunset from your private terrace and dinner with canyon views. Begin a three-day guided journey into the canyon depths. Descend steep switchbacks through Copper and La Bufa canyons to Batopilas on the river. Check in, then explore the town’s colonial remnants, from hacienda ruins to narrow lanes set against cactus-studded hillsides. Overnight: Riverside Lodge (B, L, D)

Choose your adventure with your guide: a gentle river-valley walk to the 1760s Lost Cathedral of Satevó; a moderate climb to the Peñasquito Mine site with views over town; or a full-day ascent to Mesa de San José for sweeping panoramas across Batopilas and neighboring canyons. Travel across high plains toward Chihuahua, stopping in a Mennonite community to learn about history, agriculture, dairy traditions, and craftsmanship, with time to visit the small museum and shops.
